In 2022, I had the honor of organizing the Light Symposium. This year, I served on the supportive organizing committee and represented Aalborg University as a jury member. We selected the best student presentation, who will present at the LED Forum in São Paulo in 2024.
The 9th Light Symposium (LS2023) was held in Stockholm from December 4th to 6th, hosted by the Architectural Lighting Design Division of KTH Royal Institute of Technology in collaboration with the Perception Studio of the University of Arts, Crafts, and Design. Congratulations to Foteini Kyriakidou, Ute Besenecker, Federico Favero and everyone involved for organizing a wonderful conference.
This year’s theme revolved around how daylight and electric light are integral parts of our built environment. It emphasized the sustainable design of lighting, its presence, absence, and variability over time, and highlighted the need for research and practice that is both transdisciplinary and interdisciplinary.
