Helix
Helix is envisioned as an urban sculpture, serving as a playful outdoor space within a space, located in the courtyard of new Tallinn School of Music and Ballet in Estonia (MUBA). The main idea of the space-creation is to provide room for relaxation as well as gatherings of small groups and staging minor events. The organic form is in contrast to the strict architectural surroundings and as a visual echo of music’s organic movement. The urban artwork is 4.7 meters high and with a diameter of 8.2 meters.
Behind the winning proposal was a collaborative team of architects Liis Uustalu and Egon Metusala, lighting designers Mihkel Pajuste and Mariliis Kundla and musician Mari Ronimois.
